Its green pastures and dairy herds are renowned for producing the famous crumbly white Cheshire cheese. Within this lovely area are dotted distinctive black-and-white half-timbered houses set in idyllic gardens which typify the Cheshire countryside. One of Britain's finest timber-framed manor houses, Little Moreton Hall, sits just outside the pretty market town of Congleton a classic example of English Tudor domestic architecture.
