Read on to discover some of the attractions you can enjoy whilst staying at one of our Rutland cottages. Proud of its status as England's smallest county, Rutland packs a lot into such a tiny area. Without doubt Rutland Water is the focus for many staying in the holiday cottages Rutland has to offer.
At the time of construction it was Europe's largest man-made lake and has established itself as a real tourist attraction. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cycle ride in a safe and family friendly environment. The full circuit of nearly 30 miles, including frequent stops to enjoy the scenery or a pub lunch, is a great family day out. Rutland Water offers fishing, bike hire, sailing, boat cruises, nature reserves where you can watch the famous Rutland ospreys and even a climbing wall for the kids. Pretty Oakham is the county market town, its only rival for township status being charming Uppingham, with its honey-coloured buildings. However, from our Rutland cottages there are also many picturesque villages to discover
