Here's what you can see and do when staying at one of our cottages in Scotland.
Our featured Scottish cottages extend from the Borders in the south to the very northern tip of the mainland in Caithness and Sutherland and from the Hebrides to the east coast including Fife, Angus and Aberdeenshire. This is a land with a great history and scenic landscapes and when exploring Scotland cottages offer the type of flexible accommodation most visitors will require. Southern Scotland comprises rolling hills, forests and beautiful old market towns. Towns in the Borders and Dumfries & Galloway are steeped in history and tradition. Southern Scotland is a wonderful, peaceful place to visit. In Central Scotland you're never far from a historical monument, castle or place to visit. But even while in Edinburgh or Glasgow, the hills are never far away. The Highland line is soon crossed, perhaps near the gateway town of Stirling or by the shores of Loch Lomond in the Trossachs.
No matter which part of the Highlands you explore, you will be struck by the sheer variety of landscape. Northern Scotland takes in the wilderness of the North-West Highlands south to beautiful Argyll with its ragged coastline and over to Perthshire, the high Grampians and more lowland Aberdeenshire. It is a vast area dominated mostly by mountainous terrain, wilder in the west and more rolling as you come further east. Down the east coast the scenery is less dramatic than the west coast but just as pleasing. Angus and Fife have beautiful beaches, small seaside resorts and picturesque fishing villages as well as some of the world's finest golf courses. Scotland has seen, over recent years, a resurgence in confidence and national identity. The Scots are friendly, enthusiastic and passionate about their country and their culture, something you are certain to discover if staying at one of our cottages in Scotland.
