Aberdeenshire can boast the most famous holidaymakers in Britain! Since Queen Victoria purchased the Balmoral Estate, Deeside has been known as the summer holiday home of the royal family. From your Aberdeenshire cottage you will find attractive coastal fishing villages, famous whisky distilleries, majestic castles, and some of the finest salmon fishing rivers in the world. The River Dee runs through magnificent Grampian scenery from Balmoral, through the former spa town of Ballater, Banchory famous for its lavender fields, past Crathes and Drum Castles to Aberdeen, the Granite city with many buildings built from this local stone. Like the Royals, from one of our holiday cottages Aberdeenshire and its many attractions can be appreciated.
