• Matlock cottages

  Here at UK Cottages we have a good selection of Matlock cottages in Derbyshire. The town of Matlock is situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Matlock's growth was rapid during the Victorian era and it became a fashionable resort in conjunction with Matlock Bath a few miles away.

So why not book a holiday cottage, for a longer stay, visit Alton Towers but then consider visiting these five hidden gems.

• Tour the Vineyards

  Apparently, 2009 is going to be a good year for English wine. The warm, dry weather at the end of June and beginning of July, the flowering period, and September's Indian summer were pretty much perfect growing conditions for winemakers. They say grapes have never been of such quality and quantity.
