Cathy's Say

In a nutshell: Panoramic views, large grounds, walk to pub, pet friendly. This group of Gloucestershire cottages is just a few miles from Newent, one of the most attractive towns in the Forest of Dean area with its half timbered market house. It is home to the National Birds of Prey Centre, a world famous vineyard (The Three Choirs), and is at the centre of the Golden Triangle, so called because of the preponderance of wild daffodils which grow naturally in the woods and meadows around the town.

Property Description

Hartledge Farm was formerly a large dairy farm which dates back some 250 years. The refurbished farm, which still has some working farm vehicles, is now home to a small cluster of comfortable holiday homes which were formerly the original milking parlour and stables. These cottages sit in over 10 acres of mainly open fields which all guests are free to wander and enjoy. The cottages benefit from magnificent panoramic views from their splendid, glorious hilltop setting. The beautiful Forest of Dean and Malvern Hills are both close by and the surrounding area hosts scenic delights, idyllic villages and outdoor pursuits aplenty. For the enthusiastic walker or cyclist there is an abundance of paths to follow. The Cotswolds and Cheltenham with its racing, festivals and shopping are also close at hand. With so many ancient towns, cathedrals, castles and abbeys all within touching distance of Redmarley D’Abitot, what could be better than to have your base at Hartledge Farm, to relax and spend some quality time exploring this fascinating region. Newent (3 miles), Ledbury (5 miles), Tewkesbury (12 miles), Cheltenham (12 miles), Gloucester (10 miles), Hereford (16 miles), Malvern Hills (8 miles), Eastnor Castle (6 miles).
