Hampshire cottages bring to mind scenes of rural tranquillity and these properties are no exception. This quintessentially English village is on the edge of the New Forest. It is a rich landscape which maintains a strong sense of history and culture within its community. The forest has changed little since William the Conqueror gave it his special protection over 900 years ago. Most of the forest is made up of open heathland, a unique landscape moulded by centuries of grazing by commoner's animals. In the scattered pockets of woodland, there are magnificent ancient oak and beech trees which once provided the timber needed to build the British sea-going fleet.
