Cathy's Say

Among the holiday cottages Herefordshire can offer are these modern apartments close to the county border with Shropshire and Worcestershire. Nearby is the lovely market town of Tenbury Wells - known as The Town in the Orchard, as it lies in an area known for growing hops and cider apples. Situated on the Welsh Marches, between the wonderful walking country of the Malverns to the south and the Clee Hills to the north, Tenbury had the 'Wells' added to its name in the mid 19th century to help promote the mineral water wells that had been found in the town from 1840 onwards. The mineral waters brought about the building in 1862 of the now restored Tenbury Spa, or Pump Rooms as it is generally known.

Property Description

Lying behind a quietly traditional country pub serving real ales and good food (Thursday to Sunday), and within easy reach of main roads and a wealth of attractions, these three convenient apartments are ideal for a weekend break. Upper Sapey village is surrounded by some of the finest countryside that Worcestershire and Herefordshire have to offer, affording great opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding. The counties’ many waterways boast miles of peaceful riverbanks and canal towpaths for visitors to wander along, whilst golf enthusiasts will be delighted to find a course only 300 yards away. Just 7 miles distant, the small market towns of Tenbury Wells and Bromyard provide a variety of shops and inns as well as an indoor swimming pool, theatre and leisure centre. Great Witley Court and Church, Berrington Hall, Brockhampton, Croft Castle and the magnificent cathedrals at Hereford and Worcester are all within a short drive and Worcester also boasts river boat trips, a racecourse and the famous county cricket ground. The Three Counties showground and (free) Malvern Water are found at the charming town of Malvern, and great days out can include a ride on the Severn Valley Steam Railway, a trip to Gloucester’s historic docks and the Black Country Museum, or a visit to the West Midlands Safari Park. Shakespeare’s birthplace at Stratford-upon-Avon (38 miles), Cadbury World, the Ironbridge industrial museum and the lower Wye Valley are all a little further afield. Shop 3 miles.
