Our Argyll cottages include this comfortably furnished property overlooking Tarbert, where the Kintyre Peninsula meets the Argyll mainland, joined only by a narrow piece of land between Tarbert's East and West Lochs. Tarbert is a small picturesque fishing village and yachtsman's paradise renowned for fresh seafood. It is the gateway to Kintyre where the Atlantic Seaboard is almost treeless and looks over to the Isles of Islay and Jura marked by the distinctive Paps of Jura. The lush east coast looks across the Firth of Clyde to the towering peaks of the Isle of Arran and beyond the rocky hump of Ailsa Craig to Ayrshire and Galloway.

Enjoying stunning views over Tarbert’s harbour (right photograph) and Loch Fyne, this spacious and comfortably furnished house is within walking distance of the quayside shops, inns and restaurants. A bustling fishing village, Tarbert also offers boat trips to Jura, Gigha, Islay and Arran, whilst opportunities for sea fishing and riding in the lovely surrounding countryside are available locally. There is golf, too, with the 18 hole championship links course at Machrihanish just a short drive away, and four other courses close by.The glorious landscape of the Kintyre Peninsula holds a rich variety of attractions, with excellent hill walking and beautiful forest scenery. At Lochgilphead (15 miles), Kilmory Castle displays its world famous rhododendrons in its lovely gardens. A little further on, Dunadd hill fort and Kilmartin Glen’s wealth of standing stones are steeped in history
