In a nutshell: Uniquely designed cottage, wi-fi, pet friendly. Our Argyll cottages include this unique, TV featured, holiday home on Seil Island. Opinions differ about whether Seil should be counted as an island at all. It is accessed by Clachan Bridge, more famously known as the 'Bridge over the Atlantic' as the tidal water which flows underneath comes from the Atlantic Ocean. It is situated just outside Ellenabeich, the largest village on Seil, which along with Easdale, Luing and Belnahua are known as the Slate Islands. The landscape around Ellenabeich, and Easdale Island in particular, have been transformed by an industry that lasted for centuries and which led this archipelago to become known as 'the islands that roofed the world'.

This unique holiday house was originally a tin-tabernacle, hence the name, and was tastefully renovated to replicate the initial corrugated tin exterior, as featured on the channel 5 programme ‘Build a New Life in the Country’. This art-deco style single-storey holiday cottage was formerly the vestry of the church and forms part of the owners’ home. There are beautiful countryside views and you are only a short stroll from the view point that looks out over the Atlantic and down to the conservation village of Ellenabeich, Seil Island. This village is only 1 mile from The Tin Church, and boasts a snug pub and fascinating local history of the slate mines in the area. Ideal location to visit one of the many islands - Oban, 16 miles, the gateway to the isles, has a great selection of shopping and restaurants. The adventurous can enjoy a sea safari or may spot the eagles above the cliffs. Shop 0.5 mile, pub 1 mile.
