Overlooking the golf course and just a 50 yard stroll from the sandy beach, this first floor apartment enjoys stunning sea views to the isle of Arran as well as dazzlingly lovely sunsets. Ayrshire is a golfers’ paradise, with courses in Prestwick, Troon (3 miles) and Turnberry (18 miles). Scotland’s premier racecourse is close to the town centre. Beautiful Culzean Castle is 12 miles and Robert Burns’ home is just 4 miles, as is Ayr harbour for summer sea trips on the Waverley Steamer. Excellent bird watching and walking nearby. Shops, pubs and restaurants are within a short walk and there are good rail and air links locally.

When we decided to set up UK Cottages we wanted to offer a website that helps you to research an area of the UK which might be of interest to you, give you an idea of what it has to offer and then present you with a selection of quality-assured self catering holiday cottages from our trusted partners to suit your needs. Peter has worked in senior positions within the travel industry for nearly 30 years.
I was a journalist and latterly a deputy editor of a newspaper until I began to raise my family. We are both keen walkers and have the good fortune to live in the Yorkshire Dales. We both have a passion for exploring this beautiful island of ours and believe that staying in self catering holiday cottages is one of the best ways to really get to know the UK. There is so much variety in the landscape, the architecture, the customs, the food and drink and the people.
Despite increasing uniformity, we believe that you can still discover this rich diversity if you look hard enough and you will have a much more fulfilling holiday for that. Plus, we not only want to share our passion for the UK countryside with you, but want you to share thoughts and ideas with us to possibly help someone else choose the right place for their holiday cottage.
