These two Cheshire cottages offer great accommodation for bird watchers. Thanks to the silting up of the River Dee over the centuries, the estuary close to Neston today provides some of the best bird watching in the UK. Some 120,000 wading birds and wildfowl spend the winter months here, providing a major spectacle. During low tides, birds stay far out on the estuary, so the best time to visit is during high tide. That's when you could get great, close-up views of birds of prey hunting, or wading birds, depending on the season.
