Just 4 miles away the ancient walled town of Conwy also boasts an impressive castle. There is wonderful walking in the surrounding area, and the Conwy Valley Railway line journeys to Blaenau Ffestiniog from where the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway continues to Porthmadog on Cardigan Bay. Shops and pubs are only 500 yards’ walk.
