These comfortable Cumbrian cottages are close Appleby, in the heart of the Eden Valley, with its impressive and wide main street rising from the riverside church to the Norman castle. The Pennine fells overlook the town and on their flanks are the attractive red sandstone fellside villages of Milburn, Knock, Dufton, Long Marton, Murton and Helton, starting points for many fine walks either up on to the peaks or the lower yet very distinctive conical peaks of Knock, Dufton and Murton pikes jutting out from the edge of the higher fells.
Set in the delightful Eden Valley, these two charming, stone built cottages offer accommodation of great character with their cosy beamed interiors. In a quiet village location within the owners' grounds, the cottages are just 3 miles from the market town of Appleby, which comes alive every June with its famous gypsy horse fair. Here there are some lovely shops and excellent inns and restaurants. The Eden Valley area, popular with walkers and ornithologists, also offers mountain biking, pony trekking, tennis, riding and golf. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are within easy reach.
