Among our Derbyshire cottages is this property in Findern, a tranquil and traditional village in a rural setting between Burton on Trent and Derby. In the past the local cottage industry was velvet weaving. Nowadays it has a traditional village green which is overlooked by the parish church, local shops and numerous Derbyshire cottages that lie on its edge as well as the nearby Wheel Inn. In the main street the old water pump is no longer used and it is now the custom to decorate it for the village fete in June.
