Among our holiday cottages in Dorset is this modern property less than a mile from the coast. From here Chesil Beach, a 16-mile long shingle strand, stretches eastwards to The Isle of Portland. Perhaps not the best beach for bathers, it is nevertheless a sight to behold and worth a visit. Immediately to the west the Jurassic Coast begins, a World Heritage Site with beaches famous for fossil hunting - as well as charming seaside towns such as Lyme Regis.
