An RSPB reserve lies close by and picturesque Powfoot village boasts a challenging 18 hole links golf course and hotel, whilst the local area’s quiet roads form part of the main cycle route in Dumfriesshire. Dumfries itself lies just 14 miles away and here the visitor will find good shops, an indoor swimming pool and the Burns Heritage Trail. Bar 0.5 mile; shops 3.5 miles.
