Badgers Drift is one of our most popular Sussex cottages. It is situated in the small coastal village of Fairlight, which consists of a few old coastguard cottages, a church and a collection of modern seaside houses straggling downhill to Fairlight Cove. The village is situated amidst breathtaking rolling hills and close to some dramatic cliffs and coastline where on a clear day you can see the coast of France and by night the lights along the French shore. In the days of smuggling, contraband goods were landed at Fairlight and brought inland by a tunnel.

Set on a private road just 200 yards from the coast in Fairlight, in an area of outstanding natural beauty in East Sussex, this vast American style single storey property makes a wonderful base for relaxing breaks and family holidays. The cobbled lanes, old smuggling inns and interesting shops and galleries in the ancient Cinque Port of Rye are just 5 miles away as are Battle and its famous abbey, and the historic seaside town of Hastings with its fascinating museums and undersea experience. Unspoilt beaches, delicious cream teas, and many of the National Trust’s finest properties (including romantic Bodiam Castle) and great gardens are also close at hand.
