Beautifully renovated and Grade II listed, this traditional seafarer’s cottage with its own hot tub gloriously overlooks the harbour in pretty Porthmadog, home of the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway, cinema, restaurants, pubs, shops and pool/sports centre are a short walk; Snowdonia’s outdoor pursuits are nearby. Portmeirion 2 miles.

Fourteen steps up to entrance. Hall. Well equipped kitchen. Dining room with gas ‘flame effect’ fire. Sitting room with wood burner. Steep stairs to first floor: Double bedroom with 5’ four poster bed and TV/DVD. Twin bedded room. Bunk bedded room. Bathroom/WC with jacuzzi bath. Shower room/WC.

When we decided to set up UK Cottages we wanted to offer a website that helps you to research an area of the UK which might be of interest to you, give you an idea of what it has to offer and then present you with a selection of quality-assured self catering holiday cottages from our trusted partners to suit your needs. Peter has worked in senior positions within the travel industry for nearly 30 years.
I was a journalist and latterly a deputy editor of a newspaper until I began to raise my family. We are both keen walkers and have the good fortune to live in the Yorkshire Dales. We both have a passion for exploring this beautiful island of ours and believe that staying in self catering holiday cottages is one of the best ways to really get to know the UK. There is so much variety in the landscape, the architecture, the customs, the food and drink and the people.
Despite increasing uniformity, we believe that you can still discover this rich diversity if you look hard enough and you will have a much more fulfilling holiday for that.
