Within walking distance of this Herefordshire cottage is The Mill Race, its latest award being the Food Pub of the Year at The Publican Awards 2009. Since being acquired by Luke Freeman in 2005 the Mill Race has been extensively renovated with a mix of modern decor and traditional features. Regularly changing menus and specials make great use of fresh, locally produced, seasonal food, much of it sourced from Luke's own 1,000 acre farm and woodland.

Midway between Symond's Yat and Ross-on-Wye, within easy reach of the Royal Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, this tastefully converted old smithy enjoys a village setting. Adjoining the owners' home – formerly the blacksmith's cottage – and with shared use of their large garden, it makes an ideal base for a relaxing holiday at any time of year. The beautiful surrounding countryside offers excellent walking and cycling (cycle hire nearby) as well as golf, fishing, canoeing and riding. Historic Ross-on-Wye is only 3 miles and Hereford, with its cathedral and renowned Mappa Mundi, is 18 miles. Pub serving good food 100 yards, shop/post office 1 mile.
