If you are staying at any of our Isle of Wight cottages a trip to Brightstone, one of the prettiest villages on the island, is well worth it. Once notorious as the home of smugglers and wreckers it lies on the sunny side of the chalk downs that march east-west across the centre of the island.

Sunnydown Cottage is a detached three bedroom bungalow with ample accommodation overlooking the Downs. Completely refurbished throughout, the bungalow features spacious rooms complemented by a good size garden, summer house, barbecue and patio. Brighstone is a small, friendly village teeming with chocolate box cottages, a couple of pubs, a general store and newsagent. There is also a National Trust shop with museum and post office set in a row of thatched cottages. Brighstone offers some outstanding walk’s and the beach is within walking distance of the bungalow. A couple of miles down the road is Compton Beach (N.T.) which is popular with windsurfers. The island is a wonderful place to explore with Freshwater, 7 miles in one direction and Newport, 7 miles to the other.
