Set on the banks of the River Wissey (left photograph) and boasting glorious riverside views this delightful cottage (shown second from left in left photograph) with its decking leading to the river it is ideal for fisherman or watching the waterborne world go by. Just 500 yards from the shop in the village of Stoke Ferry, it is within reach of many attractions. The fantastic Oxborough Hall NT is just 4 miles away and well worth a visit. Enjoy walking and cycling through the famous Thetford Forest a haven for wildlife. The wonderful beach at Holkham and Wells Next the Sea, the queens estate at Sandringham, the Lavender Fields and Hunstanton for family fun, are all within an easy drive. The historic town of Downham Market is 7 miles and a day trip to Cambridge is not to be missed.

When we decided to set up UK Cottages we wanted to offer a website that helps you to research an area of the UK which might be of interest to you, give you an idea of what it has to offer and then present you with a selection of quality-assured self catering holiday cottages from our trusted partners to suit your needs. Peter has worked in senior positions within the travel industry for nearly 30 years.
I was a journalist and latterly a deputy editor of a newspaper until I began to raise my family. We are both keen walkers and have the good fortune to live in the Yorkshire Dales. We both have a passion for exploring this beautiful island of ours and believe that staying in self catering holiday cottages is one of the best ways to really get to know the UK. There is so much variety in the landscape, the architecture, the customs, the food and drink and the people.
Despite increasing uniformity, we believe that you can still discover this rich diversity if you look hard enough and you will have a much more fulfilling holiday for that.
