Cathy's Say

When it comes to holiday cottages Devon has a good choice close to some of the most stunning coastline in the UK. These Devon cottages are situated between the village of Hartland and Hartland Point in the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is one of the wildest headlands imaginable. There are many wonderful vantage points, accessible by car or on foot, from which one can enjoy views of the coast. Hartland Quay was once a busy port although today nothing of the original quay remains. There is however a small museum, a rocky shingled beach very popular for fishing and breath-taking views of the unique rock formation surrounding it. Not far from the holiday cottages is the beach at Welcome Mouth. Low tide reveals sand and plenty of rock pools. The beach is worth visiting just to see the stream and waterfalls tumbling down to the sea. There are some wonderful walks along the coast from here.
