North Devon cottages like these are a great rural retreat yet, the dramatic coastline and good choice of sandy beaches are within easy reach. Nearby is Saunton Sands, one of Devon's most memorable beaches. This three-mile expanse of sandy beach facing due west is cut off to the south by the combined estuaries of the rivers Taw and Torridge. This is a popular beach with surfers and ideal for families. The award-winning sandy beach at Croyde is just around the corner from Saunton Sands, but because it is smaller it can get crowded. Baggy Point is a rugged stretch of coastline sheltering the village of Croyde and has a spectacular coastal footpath on this National Trust owned headland. Woolacombe is more commercialised and its three-mile beach is one of the finest in the West Country.

Property Description

These attractive holiday properties, part of the owners working farm, offer two on-site fishing lakes (carp, rudd, tench and roach), and are set in glorious walking and riding Devon countryside. A football pitch, croquet, netball and sand pit are just a few of the amenities that are available for children. Just 4 miles from South Molton, with its fine Georgian buildings, shops and restaurants, and within easy reach of the bustling market towns of Barnstaple and Bideford, from where you can take boat trips to the puffins of Lundy Island, the magnificent sands and surfing waves of Croyde Bay, Saunton, Putsborough and Woolacombe Bay, and the many attractions of Exmoor National Park, Lynton and Lynmouth are joined by cliff railway, the Valley of the Rocks, Watermeet and Simonsbath, the highest village on the moor and a good start point for exploration. Golf and riding are available locally. Shop/PO and pub serving food 1.5 miles.
