In a nutshell: Pet friendly, sea views, short walk to beach and pub, two bathrooms. These stylish Northumbrian cottages lie just across the river from the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. The town changed hands many times before 1482, since then it has remained English. Its town walls, built to keep the invading Scots out, were the most expensive construction of the age. From the top of those walls you can see the wide estuary of the River Tweed and a Robert Stevenson-designed railway viaduct hailed as one of the finest in the world. It is these views that have enchanted many, including Lancashire artist L.S. Lowry who painted and holidayed in the town. However, Berwick is about more than its vistas. It is a bustling and vibrant market town that offers everything a visitor could need.

In the seaside village of Spittal, just 2 minutes’ walk from its sandy beach and promenade, these stylish renovated properties boast character and charm and each with their own private, enclosed courtyard garden and with Cuthberts and Bedes enjoying sea views from their open plan living rooms. Museums, theatre, good shops, cafés and resturants lie within walking distance of the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed – from here train journeys to Edinburgh or Newcastle take 45 minutes. Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses and Alnwick’s Castle and internationally acclaimed water gardens are all easily accessible. Golf, fishing, riding, walking and cycling are enjoyed locally. Shop and pub serving food 200 yards.
