Property Description

Set beside a quiet country lane amidst a rolling rural landscape, this charming cottage is beautifully furnished with period pieces and has stripped wood floors throughout. A wealth of activities and places of interest lie within easy reach – the area is excellent for golf (the nearest course is just 3 miles away) as well as riding (there is a riding school in Glenfarg, 1 mile), and whilst the waters of nearby Loch Leven (5 miles) attract fly fishermen, cyclists can explore the cycle path around the loch and bird watchers will head to its RSPB reserve. Falkland Palace and Gardens (SNT) are just 8 miles away and visitors can enjoy a boat trip to see where Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned at Loch Leven Castle, which is also a delightful picnic spot. St Andrews is a 25 mile drive. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.

About Us

When we decided to set up UK Cottages we wanted to offer a website that helps you to research an area of the UK which might be of interest to you, give you an idea of what it has to offer and then present you with a selection of quality-assured self catering holiday cottages from our trusted partners to suit your needs. Peter has worked in senior positions within the travel industry for nearly 30 years.
I was a journalist and latterly a deputy editor of a newspaper until I began to raise my family. We are both keen walkers and have the good fortune to live in the Yorkshire Dales. We both have a passion for exploring this beautiful island of ours and believe that staying in self catering holiday cottages is one of the best ways to really get to know the UK. There is so much variety in the landscape, the architecture, the customs, the food and drink and the people.
Despite increasing uniformity, we believe that you can still discover this rich diversity if you look hard enough and you will have a much more fulfilling holiday for that. Plus, we not only want to share our passion for the UK countryside with you, but want you to share thoughts and ideas with us to possibly help someone else choose the right place for their holiday cottage.
