When we last stayed at one of our cottages in Shropshire we walked on the great ridge of The Long Mynd. Steep narrow valleys (known locally as hollows) dissect the moorland including Carding Mill Valley above Church Stretton, which is in the care of the National Trust and was the starting point for one of our walks to the top of the escarpment to enjoy the stunning views.
