Mentioned by A E Housman in A Shropshire Lad, the Clun Valley has a remote feel with meandering river valleys surrounded by rolling upland hills. This holiday cottage is in a corner of the Shropshire Hills that has been long fought over, and the Welsh place names and many defensive earthworks, such as Offa's Dyke, Clun and Hopton castles, are testimony to these turbulent times.
Set in the Clun valley, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this recently converted property was originally part of an old sawmill. Now providing spacious and tastefully furnished accommodation of a very high standard, it makes a wonderfully relaxing base, ideal for walkers and cyclists the Offa's Dyke long distance footpath can be joined nearby. Ludlow, home to many renowned restaurants, a splendid castle and an annual festival, is just 13 miles away as is historic Church Stretton. Shrewsbury, Hereford and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum are all well worth exploring. Pub ½ mile, shop 2 miles.
Two bedrooms. Very comfortable open plan sitting/dining room with sofa bed (for + 2). Large well equipped kitchen with breakfast area. Shower room/WC. Double bedroom with four poster bed. Twin bedded room with vanity unit. Bathroom/WC.
