This small group of Somerset cottages enjoy a quiet setting in the heart of the Mendip Hills, an imposing limestone ridge that stretches from the Bristol Channel, like a rampart above the Somerset Levels, to Frome in east Somerset. This is the UK's most southerly example of limestone country - distinctive silver-grey crags, gorges, dry valleys, rocky outcrops all criss-crossed by dry stone walls. The most dramatic landscape is the nearby famous Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves. There are plenty of walks crossing the hills offering the best views of the Mendips, as well as less strenuous riverside rambles and gentle strolls down in the valleys. There are also a number of waymarked mountain biking trails of varying difficulty with something to suit all levels of off-road cyclist.

Enjoying an utterly peaceful location abundant with wildlife, in a quiet Mendip valley, are these four delightful cottages. Set on a working farm, in this area of outstanding natural beauty, three of the cottages have been skillfully converted from stone barns whilst the fourth, a former miller’s cottage, is attached to the owners’ home. Attractively furnished and equipped to a high standard the cottages offer an ideal base for a relaxing holiday or for touring the surrounding area. Cheddar Gorge, Blagdon Lake – with trout fishing and a wealth of wildlife – and golf are all nearby. The elegant city of Bath and the cathedral city of Wells are within an easy drive and Weston-Super-Mare’s many attractions and sandy beach are just 7 miles. Churchill (4 miles) offers many activities including a dry ski slope, sports centre and horse riding. Bristol Airport 15 minutes. Village shop and pub 2 miles.
