Cornish cottages conjure the image of picture-postcard villages and this thatched property, just one of many similar cottages in the tiny fishing village of Cadgwith, is no exception. Here fishermen still take their boats down the beach most days to fish in the waters around the nearby Lizard Point. The friendly village pub, the Cadgwith Cove Inn, is steeped in history and makes a great place for an evening meal - much of the seafood on the menu is landed at the cove itself.

An absolute gem! Time seems to have stood still at this truly delightful 500 year old thatched cottage, one of the most photographed in Cornwall. Featuring an ancient inglenook fireplace with an old cloam oven, timber panelled walls and original beams among its many charms, and all complemented with pretty period pieces and interesting artefacts, Old Dolphin Cottage is one of a pair nestling in pretty gardens just 50 yards from the shingle cove. Cadgwith itself is a place for relaxing - a thriving fishing community and one of the county’s most picturesque villages, its whitewashed cottages dot the valley slopes, fishing boats are drawn up on the beach, cream teas and great seafood are available and the locals regularly gather in the pub for an evening of traditional song. Scenic coastal walks lead to sandy beaches and Lizard Point, and a myriad attractions lie within easy reach. Shop 50 yards, pub 150 yards.
