It is situated in the very heartland of Devon nestling in the foothills of northern Dartmoor, between the higher granite moorlands and the lush rolling countryside of north Devon. Oakhampton is an historic market town with the ruins of the largest castle in Devon just outside the town in an outstandingly picturesque setting on a wooded spur above the rushing River Okement. The coasts, both north and south, with some of the most beautiful and dramatic stretch of coastline in the UK, are within easy reach for a day out.

This stunning conversion of a Grade II listed barn on the northern fringes of Dartmoor National Park offers the ideal location for enjoying the area's famously marvellous landscape for walking, riding, tor climbing and cycling. Bicycles can be delivered to the cottage, the Tarka Trail is on the doorstep and the Granite Way is only 5 miles distant. Okehampton (3 miles) has cinema, golf, indoor swimming pool, leisure centre and cycle path, and nearby, the villages of Drewsteignton, Widecombe and Dartmeet all boast quaint pubs. Bude's fine beaches, the city of Exeter, Castle Drogo and Exmouth's two miles of golden sands and superb water sports are within easy reach. Shop and pub serving food 1½ miles.
