The Olde Chapel is probably the most charming of our cottages in Staffordshire. Nestling in one of the Staffordshire Moorlands' most beautiful landscapes, Winnoth Dale Chapel was once like countless chapels across the country, a focal point of local life. As the rural population fell so did the congregations at non-conformist places of worship. It was after much endeavour and great sadness that the 'Chapel in the Valley' closed its doors in 1969, 70 years after its birth despite many attempts to keep the chapel open. As you travel around the country today it is fascinating to see the wide and varied uses that these former chapels have been put to including, of course, holiday cottages.
