In a nutshell: Hot tub, short drive to coast, toddler friendly. Rarely do you find cottages in Suffolk with such history attached to them. It once formed part of a coaching inn on the Henham Hall estate, built in the 18th century. The mansion survived the first half of the twentieth century but a combination of neglect during the Second World War, agricultural rents in the post-war years that were no higher than they had been one hundred years before, and problems of succession within the family sealed its fate. It was demolished in the 1950s, leaving only the stables and lodges, in an ancient park, as reminders of former glories.
