If you are staying at any of our Yorkshire cottages a trip to Castle Howard, just 15 miles from Rosemary Cottage, is a must. One of the grandest stately homes in Britain, it is set in an elevated position against the Howardian Hills with a magnificent facade that is visible for miles around. It is the largest house in Yorkshire and has been the home of the Howard family since the 17th-century and was the location for Brideshead Revisited.It is situated in breathtaking parkland, dotted with temples, lakes, statues and fountains as well as formal gardens.

Standing within three acres of beautiful landscaped gardens and woodland, these attractive cottages are three of eight enjoying a pretty, rural setting on the fringes of York with its quaint medieval shopping streets. Cosy, beautifully maintained and very comfortably furnished with considerable style, they are set adjacent to the owners' plant nursery and cafe. Within 3 miles, the famous Minster, Jorvik Viking Museum, National Railway Museum, Waterworld swimming pool, inns, restaurants, cinemas and the Designer Centre are among York's myriad attractions. Steam train trips across the North Yorkshire Moors from Pickering, the wartime Britain experience at Eden Camp, Castle Howard and the thrills of Flamingo Land theme park are all under a half hour's drive, whilst Scarborough and Whitby are just a little further. Pub and shop 1 mile.
