One of the grandest stately homes in Britain, it is set in an elevated position against the Howardian Hills with a magnificent facade that is visible for miles around. It is the largest house in Yorkshire and has been the home of the Howard family since the 17th-century and was the location for Brideshead Revisited.It is situated in breathtaking parkland, dotted with temples, lakes, statues and fountains as well as formal gardens.
Standing within three acres of beautiful landscaped gardens and woodland, these attractive cottages are two of eight enjoying a pretty, rural setting on the fringes of York with its quaint medieval shopping streets. Steam train trips across the North Yorkshire Moors from Pickering, the wartime Britain experience at Eden Camp, Castle Howard and the thrills of Flamingo Land theme park are all under a half hour’s drive, whilst Scarborough and Whitby are just a little further.
