These Worcestershire cottages are just four miles from the old market town of Evesham which is situated in the centre of the Vale of Evesham, one of the country's best known fruit growing and market gardening areas. From the tranquil banks of the river Avon to the undulating hills and peaceful wooded slopes of the Cotswolds, the Vale offers some of the prettiest countryside in the United Kingdom. The region is well known for its fruit and vegetable growing since medieval times - especially asparagus (don't miss the two-month long Asparagus Festival if you are visiting in May and June). In Spring there are dazzling displays of blossom from the many acres of plum and apple trees giving great swathes of colour.

Property Description

Set in the grounds of impressive Rous Lench Court, where Oliver Cromwell dined before going into battle with Charles II, these delightful cottages have been created from the tasteful conversion of a fascinating range of old buildings. This is the ultimate spot in which to relax and unwind – visitors are welcome to roam the 41 acres of mature gardens and parkland, a lovely setting for a large lake that is home to abundant bird and wildlife and where trout fishing can be enjoyed. The rural landscape surrounding Rous Lench village and its picture-postcard pretty cottages is ideal for ramblers – there are many local walks to follow and the Cotswold Way and Monarch Way both pass close by. In the charming town of Evesham (4 miles), its arched bridge spanning the River Avon, visitors will find a good selection of excellent shops. A drive of 12 miles reaches Worcester, with its cathedral and racecourse, whilst the theatres of Stratford-upon-Avon (15 miles), the historic spa town of Droitwich and the stylish shops and galleries in Cheltenham are all an easy drive. Characterised by their mellow, honey coloured stone cottages, Cotswold villages with quaint shops and fine restaurants, inns and cafes are nearby, including Chipping Campden and Broadway (15 miles).
