In a nutshell: Beautiful Dales village location, large garden and paddock, walk to pub and shop. These three Yorkshire Dales cottages are situated in one of my favourite villages in Yorkshire. West Burton is a charming, old-fashioned and peaceful working village in Bishopdale, a quiet valley linking two of the more famous dales - Wensleydale and Wharfedale. The village has a large village green at the end of which runs the West Burton Cauldron - a pretty and exciting waterfall which flows downstream into Wensleydale close to the magnificent Aysgarth Falls. There is some wonderful walking from your doorstep, from gentle rambles to more demanding fell hikes.

In one of the loveliest villages in the Dales, surrounded by glorious Wensleydale countryside, these delightful properties sit on their own pretty courtyard, sharing large landscaped gardens with ponds, a waterfall and river frontage for private fishing. Beautifully converted from the old coach house and stables to the owners’ country house, they all offer excellent holiday accommodation within easy reach of a host of attractions. West Burton village is blessed with no through traffic and has a truly traditional feel, featuring a large village green, market cross, shop, pub serving food, post office and the Burton Force waterfall among its many charms. The Grange is perfectly located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales – West Burton lies just 10 miles from the bustling market towns of Hawes and Leyburn, whilst Bolton Castle, the famous Black Sheep Brewery and Wensleydale Creamery are all within an easy drive. And for walkers, there is easy access from the village onto open moors and fells. For family days out, The Forbidden Corner with its underground labyrinth of tunnels, hidden doors and surprises is only 8 miles distant and the many delights of the Lightwater Valley theme park, which include Europe’s longest rollercoaster, a birds of prey centre and a creepy crawly cave, are just half an hour away. Shop and pub serving food 500 yards.
