Dales holiday cottages conjure the image of picture-postcard villages, and Crakehall is one of the finest.
I love it when you come across traditional pub games, often only played in certain regions of the country. Quoits is one such game and involves throwing a metal or rubber ring over a set distance to land over a pin in the centre of a patch of clay. There are number a of quoits leagues in this part of the world, with one of the venues being the village green of Crakehall. Where better to watch this game than here, just a short stroll from this luxury Yorkshire cottage in one of the prettiest villages in the Dales overlooked by the imposing manor house, the church and, of course, the Bay Horse pub.

The village pub and shop are just 600 yards from the door and the pretty market town of Bedale (2 miles) offers a good choice of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, and Leyburn’s popular market, cinema and wide range of shops are 9 miles. Castle Bolton, Fountains Abbey (N.T.) and Aysgarth Waterfalls are among many delights within a short drive.
