From these delightful North Yorkshire cottages Thornton Le Dale, one of the prettiest villages in the county, is just a few miles away. Situated on the southern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, it is a very pleasant village with a traditional market cross, stocks on the village green and a blend of traditional, picturesque Yorkshire cottages and newer properties with considerable character. A stream runs through the village where you can admire a much-photographed thatched cottage - one of very few remaining in this part of North Yorkshire. The village remains very popular with tourists, although is far from being over commercialised.
