A peaceful position 1.5 miles from thriving Hunmanby village which has pubs, restaurants and shops. Filey is 3 miles. Bridlington, where fishing and sea excursions are offered, and Flamborough Head with the Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve, are 10 miles. Scarborough, 7 miles, offers fun fairs, traditional amusements and the entrance to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, the medieval city of York and the Deep aquarium are within an hour’s drive. Golf 3 miles. Dining pub 0.5 miles.

About Us

When we decided to set up UK Cottages we wanted to offer a website that helps you to research an area of the UK which might be of interest to you, give you an idea of what it has to offer and then present you with a selection of quality-assured self catering holiday cottages from our trusted partners to suit your needs. Peter has worked in senior positions within the travel industry for nearly 30 years.
I was a journalist and latterly a deputy editor of a newspaper until I began to raise my family. We are both keen walkers and have the good fortune to live in the Yorkshire Dales. We both have a passion for exploring this beautiful island of ours and believe that staying in self catering holiday cottages is one of the best ways to really get to know the UK. There is so much variety in the landscape, the architecture, the customs, the food and drink and the people.
Despite increasing uniformity, we believe that you can still discover this rich diversity if you look hard enough and you will have a much more fulfilling holiday for that. Plus, we not only want to share our passion for the UK countryside with you, but want you to share thoughts and ideas with us to possibly help someone else choose the right place for their holiday cottage.
